Fellow Dems,

It's countdown time! Hope you've been stumping for all the great Dems on the ticket.

Here are a few announcements:

1.  Obama/Biden Signs: We managed to buy a limited number of these signs. We are selling them at our cost on a first-come, first-serve basis.       
     Gunnisonites - you can buy a sign at the Dem Headquarters at 302 W. Tomichi Ave.       
     North Valley folks - you can get a sign from Fran Wickenhauser (349-5208). If he runs out of the ones we sent to CB with him, you can watch the window at the Purple Rain Emporium. Michael Greene has ordered more online and they will be sold at thePurple Rain when they arrive.

2.  There are also Hap, Paula, Udall, and Salazar signs at the Dem Headquarters.

3.  The candidates would appreciate your support at the Board of Realtors Candidates Forum on Tues. Oct. 7, at 7 PM at the Fred Field Multi-purpose Bldg in Gunnison. Set your DVR for the Presidential debate, come support Hap & Paula, then go home to watch the debate.

4.  The League of Women Voters will host a Ballot Issues Forum Thurs. evening (Oct. 9), 7 PM, also at the Multi-purpose Bldg in Gunnison. They will hand out their Ballot Issues pamphlet, go over all of the ballot measures, then open the meeting for discussion and advocacy.

Remember:      Monday, Oct. 6 - Last day to Register to Vote, make sure any newcomer
                 you know has registered.              
           Tuesday, Oct. 28 - Last day to request a mail-in ballot to be sent to voter              
              Friday, Oct. 31 - Last day to walk in to County Clerk's office to request a mail-in ballot               Mon., Oct 20 thru Sat. Oct. 25 and Mon., Oct 27 thru Fri. Oct. 31 -
                  Walk-in early voting at County Clerk's office

Helpful note: If you go to the Clerk's office or to the Polls to vote, you will not be allowed in wearing campaign buttons or other paraphernalia or clothing. You will also be required to show identification before voting.
